The Designers Guild

BMG recently completed a five-phase relocation on behalf of the Designers Guild as they vacated their existing warehouse located across 4 units in White City, London to a new purpose built facility in Park Royal.

The relocation included: 35,000 rolls of fabric, 157,000 rolls of wallpaper, 118000 pattern books, 2000 rugs, 3000 crates of samples and 300 pallets of finished products and furniture.

The Designers Guild needed to complete the move with minimum disruption to their business over the move period, including the continued cutting of samples and shipping of product fulfilling internet orders within 48 working hours. To accommodate this BMG mobilised teams working rolling 8 or 12 hour shifts over each weekend phase. Starting on a Friday afternoon at 16.00hours and working through to 08.00 on Monday morning.

BMG trained our teams to operate mobile platforms on site to pick stock in order to adopt a new storage method at the new site (based on item popularity) and also trained staff to scan items as they were re-shelved producing a new inventory / stock list as the move progressed. This enabled the client staff on site for the moves to be minimal and allowed business operations to continue as normal around each move phase.

All moves were completed on time, on budget and without the loss of a single roll of material.
