And on the Seventh day BMG created ‘the move’

The Business Moves Group were awarded the contract by Carillion to carry out move management and Decant services as well as the recycling of redundant classroom furniture at both Falinge Park and St Cuthberts schools which formed part of Rochdale BSF.
After an extensive tender process involving several sub contractors BMG were awarded the contract for the following reasons:- firstly, our overall package that we forwarded was deemed to be the most comprehensive package and offered Carillion additional value that other contractors failed to show. Also as a result of a strong track record of delivering multiple projects on behalf of Carillion within the education sector on such projects as Durham BSF, Nottingham BSG and Leeds BSF to name a few. Carillion checked BMG’s references which all confirmed not only the high levels of more management services that BMG has offered but also the high levels of service delivery throughout the decant package on the above projects.
The project consisted of delivering both projects simultaneously over a 7 day window of opportunity which had to be completed prior to handover to the Authority on the 23rd December.
To deliver the works, BMG deployed over 50 members of our security vetted service team from our strategicaly placed Manchester and Leeds service centres all of which were either SSSTS/CSCS card holders. In total BMG were tasked in relocating 6250 crates between the 2 schools as well as 30 vehicle loads of legacy furniture plus all teaching aids as well as specialist D&T and PE equipment.
Also through a strong business relationship BMG have developed with Rehabilitation Response, a charity who redistributes redundant classroom furniture to remote areas of both India and Pakistan, where all furniture is desperately needed Carillion and St Cuthberts school were able to donate 3 x 40ft containers of classroom furniture to the charity which was loaded and collected in between the Christmas and New Year period which allowed the demolition process of the
contract to commence in the New Year.
As a supply chain partner to Carillion, BMG have also developed a strong business relationship with Carillion’s estates/facilities teams and have delivered multiple projects on a nationwide basis for such services as move management, relocation services, recycling/resale, crate hire and storage as part of the company’s estates rationalisation programme.
BMG are also partners to Carrillion’s FM arm of the business delivering relocation to such clients as Land Registry and Centrica.
